How we work at PrintAcademy 3D
Our team is based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, with work that reaches schools and training groups in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha, Paarl and Somerset West. The work is practical and hands-on, with a strong focus on clear instruction, careful setup and support that makes sense for schools operating in real conditions, including load-shedding, limited lab space and the usual day-to-day interruptions.
We value people who can explain technical ideas in plain language, keep equipment in order and treat every school with care. Some days are spent in training rooms, other days in prep, planning, packing kits or helping teachers get confident with classroom equipment.
Roles we hire for
We do not keep a fixed public vacancy list here, but we regularly look for people with experience or interest in training, technical support and school engagement. Depending on the work at hand, roles may include classroom facilitation, lab preparation, learner support, operations coordination and content development.
- Workshop and training facilitators
- Technical support and printer maintenance assistants
- School lab setup and implementation support
- Curriculum and lesson support writers
- Operations and administration staff
- Programme coordinators for school and holiday training
What kind of person fits in well here
We look for people who are organised, patient and willing to do the small jobs properly. A good fit is someone who can work with teachers and learners, handle equipment carefully and stay calm when a printer needs attention or a session starts late. Clear communication matters, as does being practical about schedules, safety and what a school can realistically manage.
Experience in education, technical support, design, making or workshop environments is useful, but attitude counts just as much. If you can learn quickly, follow process and speak to people with respect, you will probably fit in well.
Working in schools and training spaces
A lot of our work happens in classrooms, labs and multipurpose school spaces, so we need people who are comfortable adapting to different environments. Some schools have dedicated rooms, while others work from shared areas that must be packed up at the end of the day. You may also work with groups from different age levels, so timing, order and safety are important.
- Follow classroom safety rules and keep walkways clear
- Use equipment correctly and report faults early
- Work neatly with cables, tools and consumables
- Be mindful of noise, space and school routines
- Keep explanations simple for learners and teachers
How to apply
If you want to join our team, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and mention the kind of role you are interested in. You can also include a short note about your experience, your town or city, and why you would like to work in 3D-printing education. We review applications as roles come up and will contact suitable candidates when there is a match.
Please make sure your details are current and that your experience is clear. If you have worked in schools, technical training, after-school programmes or support roles, mention it. That gives us a clearer picture of where you could support our schools, courses and lab work.
