Where training can be arranged
Our base is in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, and that is where much of our planning, preparation and support is coordinated. From there, we arrange training for schools in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Gqeberha, Paarl and Somerset West, depending on the type of session and the size of the group.
Some schools need a full workshop day with hands-on practice. Others need a shorter teacher introduction or a management briefing first. The right venue depends on the level of experience in the room, the number of participants and whether you want the session to focus on printing, CAD basics, lab setup or maintenance.
How to choose the right venue for your group
If you are booking for a school, think about who must attend and what they need to do afterwards. A teacher introduction works well when staff are starting from scratch. Intermediate training suits teams that already know the basics and want more confidence with lesson delivery, printer operation or project planning.
For schools with a growing maker space, we can also help you match the venue to the practical side of the work. That includes power stability, table space, storage and the daily routine around loading filament, clearing prints and keeping learners safe around hot surfaces and moving parts.
- Choose a training venue close to your school if you want easier travel and a shorter day.
- Choose an in school session when you want the team trained on the exact equipment in use.
- Choose a central venue when several schools need to attend together.
- Choose a workshop format when you want more time for hands-on practice and questions.
School lab support for each centre
Our school lab support is arranged to suit the venue, the timetable and the equipment on site. In some cases, schools only need help getting started with a small setup. In others, they want guidance on a full classroom lab with printers, tools, storage and a workable cleaning routine.
Western Cape schools often ask for help with room layout, especially where space is tight and classes rotate through the room. Inland schools may need extra planning for load-shedding and power interruptions. Coastal schools sometimes ask about humidity and material storage, which can affect how filament is kept and how prints are handled day to day.
What each training venue can cover
The venue pages all connect back to the same practical training options, but the emphasis can change based on your needs. A teacher group may want classroom-ready methods, while a learner group may need more time on design, testing and troubleshooting. We keep the sessions grounded in real school use rather than theory alone.
- Teacher Introduction for staff who are new to 3D printing.
- Teacher Intermediate for teams that already manage a lab or maker space.
- Learner Foundations for beginners who need guided practice.
- CAD Basics for simple modelling and file preparation.
- Printer Operations and Maintenance Basics for daily use and care.
- Lab Setup Course and Management Briefing for planning and oversight.
Practical notes for school bookings
Before a venue is confirmed, it helps to know the group size, the age of the learners and the space available at the school or training site. We also ask about internet access, the number of power points and whether the venue has a secure place to keep equipment between sessions. Those planning details make school training easier to run once the equipment arrives.
Schools in busy municipal areas sometimes need to work around access rules, gate security and hall bookings. If your session is linked to an exam cycle, sport day or term break, tell us early so the plan can be adjusted. It is easier to shape the day around the school than to force the school around the day.
Enquiry process for venue arrangements
The best place to start is the enquiry form on our contact page. Once we know your centre, your preferred dates and the type of training or lab support needed, we can advise on the most suitable arrangement. That might be Stellenbosch, one of the major metros or an on site school visit.
Our team includes Ettienne Truter, with support from Lwazi Molapo, Lizanne Rossouw, Lwandle Msiza, Hlengiwe Mabunda, Rivaaz Nair and Amahle Mkhwanazi. The team works across training, lab planning, content and operations so schools get clear guidance from the first enquiry to the final session.
